What is the best way to go about preparing for this?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Answer:<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"724\" data-end=\"817\">There will be plenty of 20\u201330 year olds who switch off at this point, and I beg you not to. It\u2019s never too early to prepare for the future. And it\u2019s never too late either. Even if you\u2019re 70+, this advice applies.\u00a0To prepare for old age, think about the main issues older people face:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1017\" data-end=\"1366\">\n<li data-start=\"1017\" data-end=\"1075\">\n<p data-start=\"1019\" data-end=\"1075\"><strong>Mobility issues<\/strong> \u2013 joints, muscular problems, injuries.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1076\" data-end=\"1115\">\n<p data-start=\"1078\" data-end=\"1115\"><strong>Flexibility<\/strong> \u2013 poor range of motion.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1116\" data-end=\"1175\">\n<p data-start=\"1118\" data-end=\"1175\"><strong>Isolation<\/strong> \u2013 lack of independence, small social circles.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1176\" data-end=\"1230\">\n<p data-start=\"1178\" data-end=\"1230\"><strong>Heart health<\/strong> \u2013 cardiovascular risk rises with age.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1231\" data-end=\"1287\">\n<p data-start=\"1233\" data-end=\"1287\"><strong>Cognition<\/strong> \u2013 memory, decision making, reaction times.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1288\" data-end=\"1328\">\n<p data-start=\"1290\" data-end=\"1328\"><strong>Mental health<\/strong> \u2013 anxiety, depression.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1329\" data-end=\"1366\">\n<p data-start=\"1331\" data-end=\"1366\"><strong>Skincare<\/strong> \u2013 wrinkles, ageing skin.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1368\" data-end=\"1532\">While it\u2019s possible to exercise with mobility issues, it\u2019s harder. The same goes for flexibility. That\u2019s why the trick is to <strong data-start=\"1493\" data-end=\"1529\">start before the problems arrive<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1539\" data-end=\"1552\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Movement\"><\/span>Movement<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1554\" data-end=\"1663\">Movement is the first pillar of any age-busting program. Get out of the house. Aim for 7\u201310k steps per day.\u00a0Walking outside in the fresh air lifts your mood, improves cognition (especially creativity), reduces stress, boosts fitness, and lowers CVD risk if done consistently.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1836\" data-end=\"2017\">Joining a gym or sports club is also crucial. Clubs keep you social, reduce isolation, and help you manage weight. They boost fitness, protect cognition, and keep you accountable.\u00a0Get involved while movement still feels easy.
